Thanks as always for your articles Dr. O.

I spoke with my massage therapist and she said that if he was having teeth problems, then that would affect his withers and back...and *May* travel to his legs...so it is a possibility that having his teeth done helped my horse become sound. She said her constant return clients were the ones who didn't fix the feet or teeth.

My horses' teeth were done just last year, not with power tools but with a speculum and bit seats and this vet seems to always do a good job...even this last vet said that his teeth were well maintained.

BUT this last vet said that there was a wave in his teeth that were causing them to move and there was a sharp protrusion that was next to an incredibly sensitive area in the back of his mouth (this he fixed with a hand float). This vet said that without power tools, the previous vet could have been filing for days and not achieved the evenness of the wave he did with the power tool.

Here's hoping -- as I think I am in the process of fixing his feet, and now his teeth are fixed -- that this will help.

Thoughts? Experiences?

Kids are at camp and me and Janette are in the mountains but still I try to get the questions answered, just dutiful I guess or maybe it is the rainy weather today. We did have a great ride yesterday (Sat.) and must have covered 30 miles with some great stream side and long distance views. The laurel is blooming right now also.

Mt. Laurel's blooming in NJ too, and armed with my new case of Deet Deep Woods stuff we rode out and enjoyed the spectacle!

Aileen: I've been with horses 40 yrs, and practiced dental hygiene for 35. Lamness and poor mouths? That would have to be one convoluted connection.

Good for you Dr. O! Now we want pictures

Lee, thanks, I had to ask though....this is so frustrating...I've resigned myself to not riding for a year...if he gets better sooner, great, if not, I'm not getting my hopes up.

btw, he saw a deer...OMG A DEER!...it's not like he doesn't see them every day....pranced around in a circle and went OH...maybe I shouldn't do that.

Right front. Not bad, and he walked nicely after that. What....Ever. I wish money grew on trees. Frustrated? Yup, that would be me.
