My run in shed smells. It is cleaned out everyday (sometimes more as needed), but the equines can't seem to walk 10 feet out to the grass to urinate.

Would it be safe to mix some baking soda with the dirt to eliminate the odor? Thanks

those silly equines.... not sure about BSoda but i use Sweet PDZ - yes its a brand name - i also dig out adn toss the offending sand/ dirt / material in the sun to sun dry as much as possible. then cover wet spot with Dry cover. when you can . but PDZ works great to eliminate the amonia smell.

I use PDZ also, but when you can't find it, or if cat litter is less expensive, the deodorizing cat litter works great. If there are wet spots that don't dry, Dry Stall works good also, but not for odor.
