I have read article on nutrition several times. So I "think" I know how much and what to feed my horses. But I ALWAYS freak out when its time to add different feeds to horses. My horses all have 24/7 pasture, they get a flake of alfalfa every night and I want to add oats/barley and beet pulp. For some of the horses its just to put their minerals in but for one gelding its to add weight and I have one mare and foal which are getting omolena 300. My question is how much do I start out with of the oats, barley and beet pulp? and how often and how much to I increase it? Thanks!

Welcome Cindy,
When adding any new food stuff start slow, maybe a pound divided twice daily would do. It may take 3 or 4 weeks before you can judge how the change in food will effect the horse so this would be a reasonable time to make changes based on the horse's response. Adding a lb at a time would certainly be reasonable though you could increase a bit more if the horse's condition is slow to improve.
