My horses are backyard horses with very little or no exposure to other horses. However, I do take them camping now and again where I will come in contact with public equestrian facilities. We are in Northern California and predominantly travel to the high sierras to camp/ride. I'm somewhat confused by the EHV-1 recommendations that I find on the internet. I've read both that the EHV-1 vaccine may reduce the possibility of an EHM (neurological form) infection, and also that it may encourage it. Thoughts?
