its my belief that the interested buyer is responsible of all costs involving a prepurchase exam...is this true... or is it a shared expense??

Hi Dres,

it is the purchasers purogative to have a pre-purchse exam, or not (although that would be foolish). Typically the buyer pays that way the vet is working for you and not the seller. You can pick a vet you trust and feel sure that the results are accurate.

What about the cost of resetting shoes after xrays? Buyer's cost or seller's?

Buyer's.......they have shoes pulled, they get shoes put back on.

Hello All,
I could see where there may be some wiggle room for some of these questions. For instance, though it is perfectly reasonable to expect the buyer to have the shoes reset, if he does not buy the horse, it is the sellers horse that suffers if it is not done or not done in a competant manner. What is important is that there is an understanding before hand.
