This is what a friend wrote to me:"Horses get thrush all the time. If your horses get thrush just fill a squirt bottle with straight clorox. After you pick the hoof out, squirt the bottom, the whole bottom of the hoof, with the clorox. Clorox kill the bacteria that thrush starts. It will not hurt them in any way and it kills the thrush very quickly. It's cheaper then the store products and works 100% better."
My question:
The farrier said I need to moisturize my mules' feet by using Hoof Alive or Rainmaker. Would using bleach to treat a very mild case of thrush be counter-active, if bleach dehydrates the horn?
