Discussion on Pros & Cons of Combo Shots
Author Message

Posted on Wednesday, Apr 18, 2001 - 11:19 am:

I was wondering if there are advantages or disadvantages to useing the 4 and 5 way shots availible. I like the thought of less poking but wonder about over taxing the immune system by trying to develop immunities for too many things at once. Is there any research about immune levels developed from combo shots as opposed to individule shots given at diffrent times (a month or so apart)?

Hello Emily,
There has been no research on whether the combination shots work as well as those given individually or in groups. You get titers in all cases however and at this time there is nothing to suggest not to do it this way.
