Author Message

My 18 year old Quarter Horse mare has been diagnosed with "migrating shoulders." Her shoulders are moving forward, making her lame, very tender in her front legs. She is on bute for the pain and the vet says she will get progressivley worse. Has anyone else had experience with this condition?

Hello Barbata,
Just when you think you heard it all... I checked my references and can find nothing called this even in old books. I just suspect we have a misunderstanding here. It you would ask your veterinarian what is happening: what exactly is migrating (the shoulder is made up of bones, muscles, joints etc...) and why is it migrating maybe we could help.
