Hello Doc,

I have been pouring over all of the information you have on skin conditions. I recently rescued a 7 year old TWH with a horrible skin problem. This horse was brought to Florida from out west somewhere in Arizona. Once this horse got here he apparently fell apart health wise. He exibits signs of Onchocerciasis infestation and I have wormed him twice with Quest in a 6 week period, (He had not been wormed in a very long time). I understand that he will and has gotten worse since worming and I am also treating the sites with a product called, "Calm Coat", which is helping tremendously. I was wondering though if using a daily wormer once I get this under control
would help to prevent the cycle of flair ups due to the adults worms depositing the larvae?

By the way I love what you've done with the place!

No one of the problems with Strongid is it is not effective against onchocerciasis. However the recommended doses and frequncy of ivermectin and Quest in the article will control this condition.
