Hello there,
My horse was hospitalized for 10 days with anterior enteritis. Of course, it has been 1 year and he is fully recovered. During his stay, I had his stomach scoped to find ulcers along his entire stomach (upper and lower) and esophagus. Excessive reflux for 5 days - had the tube in his nose that long and needed excessive IV fluids. Treated with Gastrogard to find no more ulcers. Anyway, Previous to this episode, my horse always had diarrhea - change of season, change in hay, very hot weather, etc. No more diarrhea after the colic episode; however I've gotten no satisfaction in finding the causes of anterior enteritis and how to prevent its reoccurrence. His diet has been changed dramatically and he is out on pasture 12-18 hours daily. Also on fastrac probiotic. Any comments??}}}}
