I read everything that was available to me on EMND. I have a fifteen yo mare who was pregnant and spending anywhere from 12 to 14 hours laying in the pasture or her stall. I sent her to my vet for diagnosis and foaling out. He started her on massive doses of Vitamin E (19,000 IU/day)and now she has put on about 200-250 pounds and is building back muscle mass that she lost. I was so happy to see her finally run and play with her large 3 mo. old colt. It can be treated.

Congratulations Andrea, early recognition is critical as irreversible changes occur with time.
