We have mistletoe growing in the trees above one of the corrals. At this time of year leaves and berries fall from the trees. I was wondering if they are toxic to horses. I don't think they will eat them intentionally but there is the possibility of it getting into their feed and them ingesting it inadvertently.

Though poisoning is unlikely the fact that it is over a very small area without grass I think I would remove it. What if there is a horse in the paddock a storm comes along blowing away all the hay and blowing down several large limbs on mistletoe?

Thanks, we will make plans to remove it.
