I bought a mare from Australia 15 months ago. She had a growth like ( looks a bit like a sarcoid) just behind her wither. She still has this and recently a vet thought it might be a worm. Seperately she has occasionally had a very fine yellow powder on her anus, once I mentioned it to my vet who thought maybe it was just a little fungi but we did take a sample of faeces which returned negative for worms - however today she has the yellow powder and the end of a thin worm protuding from her anus, does anyone know what this might be as I have wormed regularly for worms as is normal for UK- is this some weird Aussie worm??

This sounds like pinworms Heather, but these are generally controlled by good deworming programs. For a description and information on diagnosis and control see Equine Diseases » Colic and GI Diseases » Parasites and Worms » Pinworms (Oxyuris).

This is unlikely to be connected to your growth on the skin and the yellow powder, which if you were in NC, USA would be tree pollen right now.
