I posted under melanomas with no response and my bottle of piroxicam arrived today so i didn't read the vet hand writing properly when posting before. Now that I found the correct drug it seems very unlikely that this will have any effect on melanoma. If it would why wouldn't it have been done already, correct? Looks like I wasted $60.
Dr. O would you give this to one of your horses if they were 25 gray and had melanomas? Will it hurt to try it? What are the side effects. My vet said we would know in a month if it was going to help.

Hello Kim,
I cannot find any information to justify the use of this NSAID for melanomas. Neither can I find much information on the pharmacology or side effects of piroxicam in horses.

Thanks, Dr. O.
I'm not going to feed it since he is old enough that I don't need unwanted side effects if there isn't any reason to belief it will do any good.
