I have a 17 year old mare that has suddenly developed a deep cough. She is paddocked in a paddock that she's been in for years and when she coughs, she squirts out the back at the same time. She seems to be in season as well. Any thoughts?

The problem is that with the limited amount of information, the list of possibilities could be hundreds of things long: if there is no fever see the article associated with this forum for some of the more common causes. The urine squirts because of the abdominal pressure created by the cough.
