I'm dealing with a newborn that might have contracted tendons on hind fetlocks. I'm trying to understand whey stall rest is recommended for contracted tendons?

Thanks

Hello kbrooks,
The reasoning for this is briefly explained in the article under treatment. Let me say mild cases do not require rest but moderate to severe cases can worsen quickly with exercise and the normal strengthening of the flexors that occurs in the first few days to weeks postpartum.
