We purchased a TB off the track one year ago. The purchase was arranged through our trainer and a track Veterinarian. We noticed a blue tint to one eye. We were told it was like that from birth and nothing to worry about. A couple of months ago we changed barns and trainers.
Our new trainer said it looked like moon blindness.
We have worked with this guy for a year now. He has never exhibited any pain, runny eye, sensitivity to light. The condition seems to be unchanged.
After reviewing the article on ERU I have a couple of questions.
1. Does this look like it could be ERU?
2. How many years can pass between episodes?

Hello Guy,
The history and appearance of the eye is one of a diffuse scarring to the cornea. This would be consistent with a past trauma or ERU. In fact some cases of ERU are associated with a past episode of trauma. However the past year of no inflammatory episodes argues against ERU. It does not rule it out however as some times the disease can be quiet for a year or more.

Vet check today, fall shots.
She looked at the eye and said it looked like an old injury, pretty common in horses that raced for four years as ours had.
Thank you DrO. This site is a very nice island of sanity in a sea of online fruitcakes.
