Hi everyone... I've read about canker and done some internet searching. My Clydesdale, Mitch, has 'this' on 3 of his 4 feet, same spot in each hoof. We used CleanTrax on him tonight and will prob call the vet out to have him examined, but I wondered if anyone has seen this before? We didn't get the bottom of his feet completely clean... we were doing well to get him to lift his feet, and pick most of them (the white area is very sensitive when touched and it will bleed), and hose the area off for a photo.

it definitely requires a vet,it's very hard to treat from what I've read.I took my horse to the university for this but turned out he was misdiagnosed. wish you all the best.Debbie

A horse in the barn where I board had Canker
and your pictures look a lot like it. BUT I'd certainly have a vet look at it as the treatment is quite extensive.

Hello JenT,
Your description and photos are consistent with canker. Be sure to review the article associated with this discussion on proper treatment.
