I just had a two-week-old filly develop a cataract. Does anyone have any experiences with surgery and/or treatments of cataracts in youngsters? I did not notice this at birth, it has just become evident in the last few days.

Hello Carol,
All cataracts do not behave the same so treatment and prognosis will depend on the behavior of your case. The article gives some general guidelines of behavior based on appearance but there are exceptions to any rule. Treatment for young horses would be the same as for adults and described in the article.
