Hi,

I noticed one line a few months ago on my gelding. And now, within a few days of receiving a couple B12 injections in his back I see one on the other side of his back. I had the acupuncture veterinarian out for a routine visit, she found him to be sore in his back. I don't think he had B12 injections before. The 'line' feels like it is in the longissimus muscle, not in the skin. It doesn't feel very deep, kind of feels like a crack in the muscle. It runs like a road map or earthquake squiggle line more perpendicular like in direction to the muscle fibers. They are each more in the mid back range, but not directly across from each other on each side. My gelding doesn't seem too bothered by me palpating them and he doesn't seem to resent the saddle going on, nor does he show any behavioral issues. Any ideas?

Hello magic1,
I am clueless as to what you are trying to describe. Did your veterinarian offer a diagnosis of what the lines were?

Hi Dr. O,

I haven't had the vet out to look at them, I guess the acupuncture vet didn't notice the first one, and I forgot to ask about it since it hadn't seemed a problem. Now that a second one has appeared I will for sure have my regular vet check when he's out for shots next week. I'll let you know what he says.

Beth :-)
