Our 10 year old seems has a hard swelling about the size of a small chicken egg, that looks like a split injury. It is not hot, the horse is not lame.
Has anyone used Splintex as a treatment to reduce the size of the swelling?

I've heard of using Reducine (sp?) but I haven't heard of Splintex. What I've done that has worked well, is cold hosing, then putting a pressure wrap on it, and repeating a couple of times a day.
