THIS POST ABOUT UNSHOD HORSES AND NAVICULAR---not sure why this other subject line keeps re-appearing....

My horse was diagnosed 2 years ago with a mild case of Navilcular SynDrOme. Since then, he has been shod in bar shoes and pads, with also some heel support. I have been doing some reading about taking shoes off to increase circulation and promoite healing. I am nervous about doing this, however, b/c he is going well in the bar shoes and I do not want to make him worse. ANy thoughts? ALso, has anyone heard of the Natural Balance SHoe?

You have probably set your browser to auto fill-in form fields. It remembers this one so places it in the field when you post.

The decision to go without shoes should be made with the help of your vet and farrier who can examine your horses feet and know your riding habits. It is not entirely clear that removing shoes might help a horse with mild chronic pain of the feet.

We have discussed the Natural Balance Shoe many times before run a search on it in the Discussion Engine.
