HI Doc. O, I just wanted to let you know how Tobes Canker situation is after one year.. He continues to improve, slow progress, but yet progress.. He is sound now and a very happy horse. I am in the Wet, northwest so my routine with him is Metrodiazole paste around the frogs-- which now look like frogs, Then sole pack, then a diapers on all 4 feet followed by boa boots.( great boots in this situation) I only have to change his packing once a week now( a welcome relief)At one point during the healing process his frogs had wholes and seeped out serum, but that also has dried up now.I think in another 6mo. he may possibly have hard frogs without infection.!!!!
Thankyou for you information on Canker,, Terrie and Tobe (12 yr. old Arab/warmblood )

My guy from the time that we realized what it was to the time that it cleared up, took just under a year. But we had the problem for at least 8 months before that no knowing what it was.
I had a great person who worked on him 5 times a day to really get the blood pumping!
