Hi all those with ringbone horses. I am thinking of buying a ten yo warmblood mare who was diagnosed with low ringbone six months ago. She was given three months rest and then shod with special shoes. She has been back in work for three months, during which time she has done lots of indoor school work on a rather hard floor, three tines a week with myself and three times a week with her owner. Dr. O - Have you heard anything else about this supplement? Has anyone else tried this product? If so, what were the results. I'm trying to avoid using Tildren until I am faced with no other option.

Donna -- is there any chance you have had your mule on daily wormer (or recently had wormed with Strongid -- pyrantel tartate) and MSM? There are claims by some equine owners (Pfizer who makes Strongid C does not deny it) that there might be a negative reaction between these two products. Some recommend if you use these products together, you should check your horse for elevated liver enzymes. There may be nothing to this, or perhaps there are some individuals who do not tolerate the combination. And that also perhaps raises the question whether there might be other MSM interactions in some animals.

We have often discussed Rapid Response M-A run a keyword search on the discussions and they should come right up. Concerning Vicki's post we have heard these claims also. I really have trouble putting any credence in them but since we don't recommend wasting money on MSM anyway the point is moot from our viewpoint.
