Hi,
My 12 yr old Quarter horse gelding has been diagnosed with myositis. His right rear inner-thigh is hardened and his reach with that leg is limited which causes the jerking up and slapping to the ground motion as described. My question is, has there been any new treatment for this such as laser surgery? How effective? I'd appreciate any information you may have.

Hello Lynelle,
We cover this briefly in the forum posts put into the article for this subtopic but it has been a while since I have visited this topic so will see if I cannot generate an update for this section this week.

Hello Lynette,
I have that edited article up (the article associated with this forum) and it should help. I have not found any information on laser surgery but there is some new information in the article on treatments that have been helpful.
