I can't find anything on this with the search engine. Can someone please explain what this, how serious, and the prognosis. Is it cartaracts?

No this has nothing to do with cataracts. The corpora nigrans are little dark bodies attached to the iris. See references, Equine Illustrations: Eye: Anatomy and Physiology: Eyes, internal structures. They are normal.
