My horse came in from the pasture with a swelling above his right knee that extended up his leg. It was warm but no signs of scrapes or cuts. It appeared fluid filled. The last 8 weeks I have cold hosed and poulticed, and it has slowly gone down 80%, but is still slightly enlarged just above the knee. He has never been lame on it.

Any suggestions on how to get the last of the swelling down?

Thanks!

Do you bring the horse in at night Heidi? If so a tall knee bandage as outlined in Diseases of Horses » First Aid » Bandaging Horses and substituting VetWrap for the conform.
