I am thoroughly confused. After reading the articles on regumate, I am wondering about this:
My vet has me giving 15cc of regumate for 10 days and on the llth day a shot of 3.5 cc. He stated that since I had the mare under lights that this should bring her in for breeding 3 or 4 days after the shot. I don't know enough about all this so am confused. Will this work? I should trust my vet and really do, I just like to know what the information/situation is rather than just accept what is being done. Thanks

Hello Lola,

That is exactly the regiment my vet, who specialized in breeding issues, did with several mares in our barn. It worked just fine and resulted in several pregnancies. I believe that it is a standard protocol.

Good Luck

Heidi

Hello Lola,
What is in the 3 1n 1/2 cc injection? See Equine Reproduction: Breeding and Foaling: Heat (Estrus) Detection, Ovulation Prediction, and Timing Insemination for more on these techniques.
