Which has a greater success rate for getting a mare pregnant AI (by someone who knows what they are doing) or live breeding? My mare has had seven foals prior to me owning her and I want to book for 2002 but not sure if I should book for shipped semen or live breeding. She is 20 years old so the chances of her settling may be diminished.

I am assumig you are talking about hand breeeding as opposed to pasture breeding when you say live cover? In cases where there no problems identified in the mare and assuming good technique, the two techniques have about the same conception rate per cycle.
