My mini mare foaled early on the 15th of April, much to my surprise, she never even waxed up or showed signs that she was that close, we wanted to be there, but she fooled us. All is well and happy, but I am a little confused. Our new colt has testicles. They are hanging nicely. I thought a male horse doesn't DrOp until close to a year old? Is this normal?

No, colts are born with testicles down. Usually they are so small and close to the body though they are missed for months to a year.

Okay, that's good to know. When we first saw him, we thought he was a she. but then that afternoon, we were getting to know it alot better and everything was out for the world to see. :-)his are small, but they hang normal.
This morning it is cold and windy out and they are not as low. :-)
