I have a mare to be bred, due to the stallion being sold, the stallion owner adviced me to cycle the mare with regumate, My vet has me doing regumate for 15 days and on the 15th day 2cc of lutalyse also. In reading the earlier info on short cycling mares with regumate I do not see this type of routine. With the lutalyse will this cause the mare to ovulate sooner, or what can we expect?

Hello Sherri,
No the Lutalyse will not cause earlier ovulation, I think you may have it confused with HCG. To help your understanding you need to know that Lutalyse (and Synchrocept) are name brands for the generic drug "dinoprost" which is a analogue of the hormone "prostaglandin F2a" (PgF2a).

You will find an explanation of this process in the topic, Equine Reproduction » Horse Breeding & Artifical Insemination » Heat Detection, Ovulation Prediction, and Timing Insemination.

The vet has me giving her Lutalyse, 2cc's the last day that I am also giving her regumate, I just wanted to know why he would have me doing this. He also has me give her 2cc's of lutalyse 4-6 hours after breeding. That was my question as to why he was having me do this routine.
