Discussion on How do you hang your bridle?

The topic of conversation in my barn's tack room this weekend: A friend recently spent some time at a very nice private barn. At this barn all bridles were hung on the bridle racks and then all of the pieces (reins, throatloatch, etc.) were looped through each other in the most convoluted fashion I have ever seen. My friend did not think to ask WHY the bridles were wrapped in that particular manner, so now we're looking at what she brought back, and trying to find out if there's a rhyme or reason to it, or if that's just the way it is at that particular barn. Personally, I have my bridle stored in a bridle bag, so I'm not wrapping anything. Just curious-how do you hang your bridles at your barn?

I hang mine up by the crownpiece on a bridle hook with reins hanging down, straight.

I hang the crownpiece and the reins on the bridle hook. Ive seen (I think) what your talking about. Looks very slick but I dont have the patience for that type of discipline.

Sandra - I have seen a couple of show barns that hang their bridles that way. I suppose if that's the way you're raised, it's no big deal, but personally that's an extra minute or two (buckling and unbuckling) that I could spend smooching with my horsie! :D That said, my bridles are hung with the rein buckle on top of the crown piece, and the crown piece draped over a rounded bridle rack.
