Hi,
Has anyone used these for low withered horses with round bellys. My saddle is once again slipping slightly forward onto his shoulders. Gullet was changed. He has the wintec with cair panells. The gullet is the right size. I was thinking of a crupper or the high riser pad. Anyone had succses. My horse is starting to get the white hairs on his shoulder. Thoughts please.

I am personally not keen on the cair panels because they are quite hard and unyeilding and don't mould to the horse - just my experience.

I've never tried a front riser on a low withered horse so can't help in that area I'm afraid! I've only used it on a horse that has lost condition and has needed padding while he regained his shape.

Are you sure the saddle is the right fit for your horse? If your horse is starting to get the white hairs that would indicate to me that the saddle doesn't fit properly and he is getting abnormal pressure or rubbing in those areas. It is not just the gullet that needs to fit, it also needs to sit flat on the horse's back with no 'gaps' underneath between horse and panels.

Horses such as yours (wide back/no withers) are notoriously difficult to fit! They are usually better off with flatter panelled saddles - Wintec have just brought out a saddle called the Wintec Wide, especially for these types of horses.
