Discussion on Loose ring french link too big?
Author Message

Can anyone tell me if a loose ring french link snaffle being big is problematic? I just got it a few weeks ago,as i had tried a friends out and my guy was much more comfortable. The one we tried was definitly large so I ordered one 10 mm smaller. I can fit a pinky width on either side.We don't show or anything so cosmetics doesn't concern me i just want him to be comfortable.

Thanks Kim

Hi Kim. You're supposed to be able to get a finger between the bit (at the ring) and the horse's mouth. I've always assumed they meant both sides at the same time, but maybe not. Maybe someone will tell us both if this is wrong.
