Ahh Sue,

You are lucky to be in Michigan, well maybe not with the agister's law but you have one of the nation's foremost equine attorneys, Julie Fershtman. You should consult her for contracts rather than get them out of a book or from a fellow horse business operator. The increased money is well spent, consider it multi-year insurance and you won't be using someone else's professional expertise without properly compensating them. You also will be able to benefit from associated advice regarding what business structure you should choose, perhaps tax considerations you haven't covered -- be they income, sales, or property, and means to improve your risk managment.

You can reach Julie Fershtman at ferstman@aol.com or try her at 1-248-644-8645.

I want you to know my posting is generated by professional respect and I have no arrangments for referrals with Julie.

Good luck on your new business. Tailoring contracts for a new (or getting on track existing)stables is one of my favorite things to do. And I'm sure Julie will enjoy helping you too.
